Gordon's Tight Lines
It was the first week of May 2011, and another trip to France for a good weeks carp fishing. The venue Eden Lake at the Jurassica complex run by Steve and Sue. Just a bit of information about the complex, you have Eden Lake of about 4 acres with carp up to 60lb and cats to over 100lb. Then Jurassica, which is the biggest 24 acres with carp to 70lb plus, and cats to well over 100lb. Last is heaven, which is a small 2.5 acres with carp to 50lb with a wooden cabin and there are toilets, showers and food available on site. Breakfast and evening meals can be at the lodge or brought round to your peg, brilliant complex.
I was quite confident this year, with trying out a new bait for myself, SBS M1, it worked well on my local lake
Since the end of 2011 the SBS products are available with the new designed packaging
The first couple of nights were very slow with no bites, but i put that down to the weather being up and down. Then, I got my first carp of the week. A 26lb mirror caught on a basic bottom rig.
Me with a nice 26lb mirror
As the week went on, it stayed slow due to a couple of frosty days, first time for everything, especially at that time of year and in France. I changed my bait approach and went with chopped boilies in a PVA bag. It seemed to work with a piece of fake corn on the hair with a boilie.
I finished the week with 11 carp and 2 cats, the biggest carp 29lb and my very first grass carp.
My very first grass carp
29lb mirror
Box standard rig, with piece of fake corn
With PVA bag chopped boilie
It wasn’t a good week fishing but the venue, food and fishing with friends made up for it. I had to work hard to produce the bites, but this year i think i can have a better week due to some new tricks up my sleeve and trying the M3 bait, which is more of a fruit bait.

New Brand Identity at SBS
The well-known yellow-black color scheme will of course remain, but at the same time, you will find a new font and a new logo symbolizing carp fishing on SBS platforms and product packaging, which better expresses the company's profile and identity. -
Spring through my eyes
Last season I was less active in my fishing, so I decided to start this year as quickly as possible, in early spring. I wanted to trick as many carp as possible, of course take pictures and release them back to their home as soon as possible. -
