In this part of the series I am going to tie a rig, an advance fluorocarbon combi rig. I will use a soft braided line as a hair for the hookbait combined with an invisible and rigid fluorocarbon hooklink. If you follow the step-by-step images and watch the video below, you can easily make your own.

Step 1: I splice the hookbait on the soft, braided line.

Step 2: I pull a small piece of silicone tube up onto the shank of the hook (you can use a rig ring as well), the same way I do this if I tie a blow-back rig. The small tube or the rig ring can slide up to the eye of the hook when fish tries to blow out the bait, therefore the point of the hook can go straight to the lip.

Step 3: I push the line through from the back of the eye and fix it with a simple knot. This little knot fixes the hair, not to move with the hookbait.

Step 4: Now I take the fluorocarbon hooklink, that I push through the eye of the hook and then tie with a simple knotless knot. Finally I cut off the tag ends.

It is good to use a line aligner for the perfect hook movement, but it also protects the knot

The advantage of this rig is that it doesn't tangle at all, and it is invisible under the water. The soft hooklink used for the hair secures a free, nice movement for the hookbait, and the rigid fluorocarbon hooklink makes the whole rig really hard to blow out.

I have caught this beauty with this rig, it performed great again!

Wishing you all catches like this! Cheers!
