SBS Tips – How to make a PVA stick mix?
Question:
I have seen in one of your films where you are attaching a PVA stick mix to the rig and casting it pretty far. My question is, what kind of ingredients are in the PVA mesh and how did you attach it to the rig exactly?
Answer:
One of the favourite topic what carp anglers usually ask, is about which bait and flavour to use and what kind of feeding strategy to choose at a certain period of the year? The different seasons of the year combined with a new venue, where you have not fished before, makes many anglers confused what and how to do. Before we decide which bait and feeding method to choose, we always take notice of the weather conditions, water temperature and the stock of fish. We have experienced many times (especially at commercial lakes), that there is no point to feed with big quantities, it is much more effective to use high quality, concentrated, small amount of feeding to attract carp to your hookbait. It is also a fact, that small amount of feeding is a good tactic when targeting big carp, doesn't attract small carp that much – usually attacking in swarm -, but a good way to goad big carp curiosity.
With the appearance of the PVA products it is really easy to do this tactic, we can use PVA strings, meshes or bags to fill up with various baits. It is also good for casing or for bringing in and it fully dissolves after few seconds in the water. We can put various kind of pellets, boilies, PVA friendly liquid attractors and groundbaits in it, only your creativity can be the limit. I usually choose the same flavoured ingredients what my hookbait has! For example (you will see at the video footage) my hookbaits were with M1 (spicy) and Frankfurter Sausage flavours, that is why I put the same Frankfuter Sausage Eurostar Groundbait, soluble Eurobase boilies and Boost Juice (PVA friendly product!) to the mix.
Click on the video at the bottom and I will show you how I prepared the Stick Mix and also a trick how to attach easily to the hooklink before casing out!

Spring through my eyes
Last season I was less active in my fishing, so I decided to start this year as quickly as possible, in early spring. I wanted to trick as many carp as possible, of course take pictures and release them back to their home as soon as possible. -
